Entertaiment
Something that takes you to another world in a euphoric state, where you forget all your problems and wish the moment never ends or just lasts forever. This can be anything from watching a dance performance to solving a daily crossword puzzle.
The word entertainment comes from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which means to hold inside, or “to entertain” someone. It also has Indo-European roots involving the idea of stretching or expanding something.
It is an incredibly versatile concept, which can be adapted for any scale—from the individual choosing private entertainment from an enormous variety of pre-recorded products, to a banquet adapted for two, to performances intended for thousands, or even the whole planet. Entertainment is often associated with amusement, but can be serious as in ceremonies, religious festivals, or satire for example.
